TikTok recently launched a new messaging advertising objective that allows customers to be redirected from TikTok to the Messenger or WhatsApp Business platforms.
However, with this form of Messages advertising from TikTok, if you don't use Pancake, you won't be able to measure how many customers actually start conversations with business.
The demo images of the solution below apply to the Messenger (Facebook) channel. You need to have Admin rights on Pancake to be able to access all of the sections below.
You can see the TikTok Ad_id this customer interacted with, along with the time the customer interacted with that ad.
Your Facebook page ad statistics will also report the number of conversations coming from TikTok Messaging Ads.
This metric on Pancake is DIFFERENT from the metric on TikTok Ads Manager due to different calculation methods. Please see explanation HERE
When using Pancake, you can also know which TikTok Ads and TikTok Ads videos this customer came from, even though your page is a Facebook page.
If you use Pancake POS to manage orders, you can also filter out orders with TikTok Ads as their source.
The instructions below will help you identify customers chatting with you from TikTok Messaging Ads.
Before start: - You need a Facebook page/target WhatsApp Business API number to receive guest messages from TikTok ads. - You are using Pancake to reply to customers of the above Facebook page/WhatsApp Business API number. - You need to have a TikTok advertising account with the Instant Messaging Apps feature enabled.
Because this is a feature in Beta, not all TikTok ad accounts have it, so you need to register a new ad account, or register with Pancake/TikTok to open this feature. Compare two ways to register to open the Instant Messaging Apps feature.

Authorization + settings for App Pancake to access your advertising account are REQUIRED
Login Pancake, go to your Facebook or WhatsApp page.
Select Setting > Tools > Connect in the TikTok Messaging Ads Settings section
Follow instruction to connect your TikTok Ads account to Pancake page
You set up ads according to the video below. Note that you need to choose EXACTLY the following points:
Campaign type: Lead generation
Optimization location: Instant messaging applications
Goal: Conversation
Message event group: Select the correct Eventset you installed/created on Pancake in part 3 above.
App: Select Messenger
Facebook page ID - Fill in page_id which is the ID that identifies your Facebook page. Instructions for getting page_id are below
Similar to Messenger, with WhatsApp, the only difference is in the application selection step, you choose WhatsApp. Then fill in your WhatsApp number.

The following instructions guide you through tracking the number of conversations started on Pancake that are synced to TikTok Ads Manager.
On the TikTok Ads Manager interface, select Custom Columns
Type "Conversation" then tick Conversations (Instant messaging app)
Due to different calculation logic, the number of conversations on Pancake and TikTok Ads Manager may be different. However, if you suspect you have installed it incorrectly, you can contact Pancake for assistance.
Pancake will only sync 01 conversation signal to TikTok Ads when the customer CLICKS ON THE AD + Text 01 message
Pancake statistics the total number of conversations containing Ad_ID from TikTok, including cases where customers only CLICK ON ADS but DO NOT MESSAGE
You can also filter conversations coming from AD ID by:
Select conversations by Source
Select "By advertising ID"
Enter the AD ID that you want to filter the conversation for and then click FILTER
For orders on the Facebook Messenger Channel but coming from TikTok Messaging Ads, you can filter by:
Access Pancake POS, go to the Shop containing the page you want to filter.
Access the Orders section on the left.
In the Filters section, add the Ad Source > TikTok filter
Orders coming from TikTok advertising sources will be listed.
Register a new advertising account at THIS LINK. Note, you need to fill in all information in the Email + Password section then click Continue.
USE the Register button via TikTok, or are logged in to an existing account, you will automatically be redirected to the advertising account management page.
